Carrie Y. Brown (formerly Hepburn) is a collaborative leader with multi-sector experience in various industries including public health, government, nonprofits, and philanthropy. She is the CEO & Principal Consultant at Onyx Strategic Consulting, LLC, a boutique firm committed to creating a more equitable world. Previous experience includes: leading community engagement efforts for a private foundation, managing top tier initiatives and the listening portfolio for the organization, designing and implementing a community led listening project, supporting and expanding a national equity and social justice network to improve oral health access and outcomes, directing a local multi-county nonprofit focused on improving community health and wellness, overseeing and guiding a large multi-year federal maternal and child health grant program, supporting a community consortium, coordinating a countywide coalition to address concerns, implementing youth development programs, and working as a business consultant for a worldwide management and consulting firm. Carrie earned a Master’s degree in Environmental Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry/Molecular Biology both from Florida A & M University. She is a master facilitator and analytical thinker who executes strategies to help build stronger communities and create a more equitable world.
